Dr. Le's exceptional surgical results, especially in challenging cases requiring more extensive planning and surgical times, has brought him referrals from all over the nation and world.  His patients have included highly public figures in the television and movie industry, fashion and modeling, sports, politics and lawmaking, and corporate leadership.  Dr. Le enjoys caring for patients of all backgrounds and cultures, who often travel great distances for his care from Europe, Asia, South America, Australia, and Africa.  Dr. Le has been featured in various media venues and is author to multiple journal articles on facial plastic surgical care and is co-author on several books on board exam preparation for medical students.

Prior to founding Baltimore-Washington Facial Plastic Surgery, Dr. Le served in full-time academic (teaching and research) medicine from 2004 to 2011 as Director of Facial Plastic Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center and Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery.  During that time, Dr. Le directed the University’s first multi-faculty Division of Facial Plastic Surgery and oversaw the creation and development of Maryland Facial Plastic Surgery and Maryland Medical Spa, the cosmetic arms of the Division, as well as its expansion to Northwest Hospital.  He did so while being on call nights and weekends managing one of the nation’s busiest and most complex emergency facial reconstruction practices at the renowned R. Adam Cowley Shock Trauma Center, where the complexity of facial trauma from gang violence, high-speed vehicular injuries, and occupational injuries mimicked battlefield injuries so much that Dr. Le was responsible for training facial trauma surgeons of the United States Armed Forces.  He was recipient of the Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award for the teaching of residents, served as Associate Residency Program Director, and has served as a mentor to the current faculty at multiple universities.  Since leaving full-time academic medicine to focus on private aesthetic patient care, Dr. Le enjoys remaining active as adjunct faculty at the University of Maryland and other institutions, where he frequently lectures and provides workshops for surgical residents and medical students.  His expertise in complex revision cases continues to bring him referrals from respected colleagues at universities across the nation.

Dr. Le graduated with highest honors from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, garnering, among other awards, the Kash Award in Anatomy and Neurosciences, the Barbour Award in Pharmacology and Toxicology, and the McGraw-Hill Book Award for the outstanding medical student. His incredible accomplishments gained him early induction as a junior medical student into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honorary society.

Before and during medical school, Dr. Le performed lipoprotein and molecular biology research at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md., working under the direction of two former presidents of the American Heart Association.

Dr. Le subsequently completed an internship in General Surgery and a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at St. Louis University School of Medicine, under the direction of renowned facial cosmetic surgeon J. Regan Thomas, M.D., former president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS). In residency, Dr. Le logged thousands of facial, head, and neck procedures and won the Resident Research Award.

He then became a Clinical Instructor and Fellow of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Miami in Miami, Fla., a mecca for plastic surgery in 2003 and 2004.  During his fellowship, Dr. Le performed hundreds of advanced facial plastic procedures and worked with some of the most well-known facial plastic surgeons in the country, including Robert Simons, M.D. (also a former president of AAFPRS), Richard Davis, M.D., Julio Gallo, M.D., Brian Jewett, M.D., and Jeffrey Epstein, M.D.  Subsequent to his excellence as a fellow, Dr. Le was recruited to lead the University of Maryland's Division of Facial Plastic Surgery in the Head and Neck Surgery Department.

Outside his work schedule, Dr. Le enjoys spending time with his family of college-age children as well as supporting his church charities and the Special Olympics Maryland.
